WordPress Custom Menus were first introduced into WP version 3.0.
Prior to WordPress 3.X navigation menus were pretty difficult to customize. In many themes there was only one navigation that was created automatically using all the pages on the site. The menu order was displayed in the default alpha-numeric order and you had to define the “order” parameter in order organize them as you wish. If you wanted to exclude pages from the navigation, some PHP editing was required.
WordPress Custom Menus allow you to take control of your website menu definition with a wonderful drag-and-drop GUI.
The Advantage Of WordPress Custom Menus
