Images are an important part of a website. They can change the whole look of a site, make it look professional (or not) and help convey your message in a creative way.
If you are struggling with finding images, here are some resources I often use. These are either FREE or low cost images that you can download from the web in minutes.
Icon Finder – Thousand of attractive icons, many of them are free
Wikimedia Commons –a database of more than 11,000, 000 public domain media file. Make sure to read the license agreement for images that you intend to use on your site.
There are several website that sell Royalty Free images. Royalty Free images are copyrighted images that you pay for once and can use without the need to pay royalties for each use or per volume sold. Here are my favourite 3:
Dreamstime – Images for as low as $1.44 per images and the minimum package costs $11.52 . They also have a free images section with thousands of images you can use for free.
bigstockphoto – Another great site for royalty free images. Smallest package costs $13.
Shutterstock – A larger selection and often better quality images. Prices start quite a bit higher. Their smallest package costs $49
